Make sure terminals are clean and tight. However, 14v seems low as mine pushes 14.6v-14.8v. Check your battery voltage before starting next time, should be around 12.8v if healthy. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

The battery should be checked with a suitable diagnostic machine - a simple voltage reading doesn't tell you about how healthy the battery is.

Just bought a 2012 and got home after a 5 hour journey. Poked around under bonnet and noticed battery cover melting at one spot. Found the positive terminal loose and terminal burning hot! These terminals with a stupid cone nut can't ever be tightened properly. Surprisingly it started and ran fine like that. Alan |
