United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey
P132B-21

Evening all,
I’ve had this code a couple of times, along with a Red Triangle and Restricted Performance, switching on and off clears the fault from the dashboard.
The first time, I had it in to the garage and the lubricated the actuator rods.
It’s come back, but only under constant acceleration, eg going up a hill and accelerating, so if I lift my foot it doesn’t happen.
It happens on cruise control, which supports the constant acceleration theory.
Has anyone got any idea what it might be, if the actuator rods are moving freely?
I’ve got two months left on my warranty, so I’d like to identify the problem and get it fixed if it’s covered or see how to delay the inevitable if it isn’t 😀 2010 HSE TdV8 in Stornoway Grey.

Thank you.
Which hoses? I replaced the top intercooler hoses just after I got her, around a year ago, but will check them again. 2010 HSE TdV8 in Stornoway Grey.

I have the same problem - all the hoses are intact on mine and I, too, have previously freed off the actuator rods. The errors in my case point to the engine asking for boost and not seeing it at the intake, which leads me to believe it's likely a split intake manifold on one side.

There's a video somewhere (have a look in my previous posts, I think) of someone bubble-testing the intake manifolds to find the fault. Good luck! Thumbs Up 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I'd be checking intake manifolds for splits using a high pressure smoke tester Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

I have had this problem for a long time (about 7 years). The restricted performance will come up some time either on a single event or for a whole week or for a duration inbetween. When the restricted performance light comes on the exhaust changes note becoming very boomy (and very loud like the mufflers are not present) and there is a performance drop. Then the vehicle can behave itself for many months after without the error coming up. I have been advised that the problem can only be solved by body off chassis to access the turbocharger varable geometry actuator rods.

I just live with the problem as it it only an intermittent problem and does not appear to have done any damage to the engine.

TDV8 or SDV6? You can get to the actuator rods from below (TDV8) or above (SDV6/TDV6) - if it's the rods themselves being sticky, that is.. if it's the turbo then it is indeed body off. I don't think you can replace the actuators without having the body off either, but you can certainly manipulate them to free them off (and spray them in grease) without removing the body Thumbs Up 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

Thought I’d provide an update on this as I seem to have avoided it for a while, purely by bouncing the accelerator.
It came back again recently, so I resurrected my research and finally popped the bonnet to have a look at the hoses, I replaced them last year with Britpart silicone so didn’t things they would have split.
On one side the hose was crudded up with oily sludge on the bottom and so I removed the clip at that end. Cleaned the hose and refitted, making sure that the jubilee clip was not on the lip, which it might have been before.
Going to drive it today, as I need the larger car - as an aside I bought a 1.6 mini at the new year for the short journies and have saved £95 on fuel so far..
I’ll have to drive fairly sensibly today so won’t be ab,e to see if the refitting has worked. 2010 HSE TdV8 in Stornoway Grey.
