I have the same problem - all the hoses are intact on mine and I, too, have previously freed off the actuator rods. The errors in my case point to the engine asking for boost and not seeing it at the intake, which leads me to believe it's likely a split intake manifold on one side.

I have had this problem for a long time (about 7 years). The restricted performance will come up some time either on a single event or for a whole week or for a duration inbetween. When the restricted performance light comes on the exhaust changes note becoming very boomy (and very loud like the mufflers are not present) and there is a performance drop. Then the vehicle can behave itself for many months after without the error coming up. I have been advised that the problem can only be solved by body off chassis to access the turbocharger varable geometry actuator rods.

TDV8 or SDV6? You can get to the actuator rods from below (TDV8) or above (SDV6/TDV6) - if it's the rods themselves being sticky, that is.. if it's the turbo then it is indeed body off. I don't think you can replace the actuators without having the body off either, but you can certainly manipulate them to free them off (and spray them in grease) without removing the body |

Thought I’d provide an update on this as I seem to have avoided it for a while, purely by bouncing the accelerator.
