Possible HVAC issue

Chaps,

I think there might be an HVAC issue in my car.

It's winter here, and it's flipping cold and bucketing. Earlier today I was going to the optometrist, and I had the air on 20C, while ambient was 12C.

So once the car was warmed up, it got toasty in the car, but then while I was driving, I would feel ice-cold air on my feet - the HVAC was randomly stopping the hot air and instead blowing cold air in.

This happened a couple of times during the drive - I take that this is not normal?

Any tips on how to solve this?

Thanks! --

From the RRS owner's group on FB:

Quote:
behind the glove box, squeeze the side clips to drop it down then you will see the white flap infront of you, you shouldn’t be able to move it, don’t put to much pressure on it. If it’s flopping backwards n forwards it’s broken.

So I dropped the glove box and poked at the flap with one finger, and was able to move it up and down. Bloody mech must have broken it when replacing the filter last week during the service 🙄 --

Good catch Thumbs Up , sounds like a trip back to the garage for them to fix it FOC.

Yeah, good luck with getting them to accept responsibility.

"It wasn't us and you can't prove it was so Foxtrot Oscar." is the kind of response one might expect. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I guess it depends on the garages attitude to customer retention. The argument would be that it was working fine before the service, if it had been damaged before service, the person replacing the filter would (should?) have noticed it and brought it to the attention of the customer. And finally, why would the customer go anywhere near the filter if the replacement procedure had been done correctly? It all points to the damage being done during service.
Of course, RRSTDV8 may be correct, I hope not.

A decent garage would do that. A LR dealership? Not in my experience. Hopefully Naks get the correct response form his garage. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Update:

Car has been in the shop since Monday: they fitted the new blend motors, but cannot intialise them because of the software mismatch I see since the upgrade: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/post611088.html#611088

It looks like I will have to go back to the original panel Crying or Very sad --
