EV Cost, Range and software issues

After a few battery loads of charge I’m pleased with the results

Range has averaged 55miles per charge and at a cost of approx 6p per mile. Taking into account and overnight off peak tariff at 9.57p per kWh.

That’s from a mix of city and country roads driving with a little motorway thrown in to, and not driving over conservatively.

I am having lots of issues with scheduled charging which is really disappointing, I am now having to reset the EV setting, set the timings and lock via the app. As soon as I lock or unlock with the key it reset to on demand charging. This is apparently a known issue through the range according to many posts online.

It took me a while to get my P400e scheduling to work, if the Pivo Pro system is similar to the InControl then I had to set it up in the car.

The software seems to be overly complex, with setting charging periods and departure times then a toggle switch to use or immediate charge. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Yep set in car computer and it defaults back to direct charge, when you look back into the menu it still showing scheduled.

The P400e has the same 2 schedules that need setting but that doesn’t activate it.
There is a separate box to tick that enables it.

Have you set that? Once you have the schedules saved, the idea is that you can turn them on and off as required.

Of course the new model may be different. but you must have a facility to enable/disable the stored schedules.

I also vaguely remember having it failing with my initial choices for the schedules. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Just had JLR tech out and the charging issues are known and a patch was uploaded which solved the initial issue, however if I have it plugged in I can now lock it with the key, however if I unlock it it starts to charge. So halfway there I guess.

FFS JLR, over the air software update and boom cannot now schedule charge. I’m starting to get very annoyed.

Scheduled charging initially didn’t work at all, JLR installed update and it would start on scheduled time but not turn off. Now after a software update it just says initialising and will not schedule charge.

Have you updated the Remote app? The latest version is to fix an initialising issue.

What's new
New features
A new option to 'EXPLORE' will be presented and will allow users to plan a route from the App and send it to the car to display in the PIVI navigation. Limited to the New Range Rover and New Range Rover Sport models only. Additional makes and models will be enabled in future releases.

General improvements
Improved logic if the App is trying to start EV charging, and the status is stuck in "Initializing", allowing the user to restart charging from the Charging screen 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Yes updated. It’s not app related as it doesn’t start (flash blue) when plugged in.

It’s an awesome car, but i I bought it to be used primarily as a EV for daily stuff, and if this continues it will be going back and I’ll be leaving the brand as this was the last chance…. It’s not as though the EV tech is new, it’s lifted from the previous models.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

My P400e had lots of similar problems when I first had it but seems to have settled down now.

It took me a while to get the schedules working properly and I was bugged by the initialising message.
It all seems to work fine if I fully charge overnight, drive it, return home plug in and repeat.

If I try to pre-heat and try to charge again or anything out of the ordinary then it fails.

I can reset by driving the car forward and back a couple of feet,as it had been on a journey and then the blue light comes on as normal

I was hoping all this would be fixed in the new model. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

So how much of a t**t do I feel.

Stressful few weeks at work and a non sleeping 8 month old has left me with the inability to plug my car in correctly. So hold that cancelling order talk.

I shall never doubt a JLR product again… we’ll unit the next time.

Luckily I hadn’t called LR assist.

Yes guess it is expected 😂 I have little faith in there products.

I still have issues with the scheduled charge not turning off at all, but that only means I have 30mins at full kwh rate if I am totally flat. Or I switch it off as I’m up all hours at the moment. 😆
