Once you have the old ones off, run a tap through the threads, and I put a smear of copper slip on the bolts when refitting. If you have to replace then again it will go a lot easier.

Just picking up this old thread, Im thinking of fitting side steps to my l494 but was put off originally by watching the YouTube fitting videos where you need to take off a load of plastic trim underneath first, has anyone found any other options for a direct bolt on side steps - no cutting or plastic removal?

However, just had a pair of these sidesteps fitted today from sidesteps.co.uk.
Have plenty of time on my hands so had a run down and fitted.
Great service, arrived fitted for me, done and dusted in 20 mins. Look and feel great. Don't need myself being a six footer, however the wife
Anyway great for the car park dings.
Cannot recommend highly enough.
£400 cash fitted, what's not to like.

I am buying my old RRS back from JLR and they removed my rubberised sidesteps, which were from sidesteps.co.uk so going to grab another set, they seem to have shot up a bit in price, but were very good! Current - 2019 L494 AB Dynamic
Gone - 2017 L494 AB Dynamic, Carpathian Grey, Ivory Leather, Stealth and 22’s
