haha Milky400.
I just knew someone would say that. Laughing

There are several reasons I started looking at the BMW.

1,No way am I paying 90k for any car without surround view cameras and with just a base sound system. I believe these cars built without some of these luxury options will take a significant hit in their residual values.

2, I test drove the BMW and was very impresssd. I got 40 miles of all electric range with AC on , radio on, and driving at 75 to 80 mph.

3, The BMW as configured had everything the RRS I configured had and more.

4,I have an ACTUAL build slot, not some ephemeral delivery date with the RRS.

5, I can cancel EITHER order and get my deposit back.

It was tongue in cheek, and what do you class as 360 view cameras? They come with 3D surround and what size battery do they have?

As for residuals, if you bmw sales person is correct and orders are 18months away, residuals will be fine. The base stereo is hardly you average base spec. I personally think the base spec cars are quite well spec’d. atleast for £88k I can pic the colour of my interior which Audi optioned black or black. 😂

The BMW has a 24 KWH battery as opposed to the 38 KWH battery in the RRS, buy I suspect they have done some really clever electronic wizardry to eke out 40miles of realistic electric only driving.

One on the main attractions for me to the RRS was the 50 KW rapid charging capability , but with the current prices of electricity rapid chargers on the motorways, I would not be bothering.

3D surround cameras still listed as standard driver convenience, I cannot see them selling a Landrover product without that.

I will be using the battery for most of my journeys as have solar and a night tarrif to charge the house battery during the winter months, but agree that I won’t be charging it elsewhere (unless it’s free). That’s not a bad range at all, about 1.6 miles per kw where as I’m expecting around 1.45miles per kw from the sport.

I looked at all option including the BMW and nothing floated my boat like the RRS does, so order mine on 9th June and had a call to say it’s in build and will arrive at the end of this month.

I hope you get your car as promised.
Here are the option I went for on the BMW, compares well with the RRS.

So do I. 😂

I also found that the residuals were a lot lower in the bmw and Audi so monthly payments were considerably higher

Well it’s confirmed as built and will be with the dealer before the end of the month…. They had a few there today awaiting prep and one sat outside on charge so they are coming through.

If no chance of getting a build slot within a month and delivery Mar23 then will have to cancel and look elsewhere!

I contacted my dealer again today and the salesman (a new one) finally came clean and said I was unlikely to see my car before July 2023. So this is going to be 18 months after I put down a deposit. But apparently there is some good news. It seems my delivery is so far in the future that I might actually get the Meridian Surround system I specified Censored

Problem is there is no way you can be sure you will the that sound system then either.

JLR are not specifying a time frame when they will start building cars with the non basic sound system.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Ive recently placed an order too and was told it could be a 12 month lead time although one dealership said 6-9 months. The website also says 6-9 months.
Has anyone seen any improvement or are we realistically looking at12 months?

Hi all, thought I’d get involved in this because I’ve been having all sorts of shenanigans trying to get a delivery date for my RRS.

Be keen to hear f anyone has there’s yet, or even if they have a confirmed delivery date.

I ordered mine a day or two after launch date. P440e, SE. Base spec (as it’s such a good base spec) but with tinted windows. So you’d expect that it’s about as simple a build as LR could have.

I got notification over summer that I had a build slot, delivery expected late Oct/early Nov. But like lost I got the email saying “sorry. No idea when you’re car will be ready”.

LR website still says 6-9 months last I checked, which would be November-Feb for me. But I’d expect to at least have a build slot allocated.

So, has anyone actually got one yet?
