Thanks guys, I will bear this in mind

I will update if I find out any more

Can someone confirm if you double click the lock on the remote fob does this activate the deadlocks and also the sonic movement interior sensors ? That’s if my HSE 2010 RRS has interior movement sensors ?

On the pre-facelift cars if I remember correctly one press did the deadlocking and sensors a second press just did normal locking, however they did change the system to one press normal and a second press deadlocking, however I can't remember at what point they changed it, may have been with the introduction of the facelift model, mine is two presses for deadlocking.

Cheers

I may have another theory…..

So just had delivered one of them signal blocker pouches to safely out your keys in so the keyless entry can’t be amplified etc. anyway as I’m walking to me car on the drive with the pouch to test the keyless entry as I pull on the car drivers door handle it doesn’t open as I had hoped for however what I did notice was that the screen inside the car above the steering wheel said something like automatic steering adjustment

I’m thinking if I’ve double locked the car and activated the internal sensory alarm then maybe the steering column has self adjusted etc and cause the movement sensor to trigger setting the alarm off ???

Possible, maybe ????

Hi guys

So yeah Alarm went off randomly again this morning so I’ve

A) Turned the Auto steering column positioning switch (I think this sometimes moves when the car is locked up causing the internal alarm sensors to detect movement ) ?

B) ordered a new bonnet switch as a few days ago the bonnet was 100% shut however when I tried to lock the car it made a beep, when I started ignition it said close bonnet. So I’m thinking first signs of a faulty bonnet switch so just ordered me a new one from Amazon for about £23

I’m not good mechanically or electronically but this looks very easy to fit, litterly unplug and then push the 2 clips and pull out and replace with new sensory and clip in place and reconnect 👌

Will update this forum on outcome

Al

Gents

1 week in and still no single alarm has gone off so the Bonnet sensor replacement has certainly cured the issue. Just want to report back on here for future reference for other members having same issue. For me at least this was my issue anyway and with the support and guidance from this forum group I fixed the issue

Thanks everyone that contributed and guided

Alan
