Sensor for DPF - engine removal

Car was in garage to replace the temp sensor which activates DPF etc to be told they cant remove it and will need to go back to main dealer for the engine to be removed to allow this to be done - I know the implications of not doing this could be a £3k bill for new exhaust system and the sensor would still need to be changed - anyone have any ideas on the cost to do this ? many thanks 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV6 autobiography (MY17)

Presumably the garage it's current in isn't an independent LR specialist - any decent LR specialist ought to be able to remove the engine and do it at a significantly lower cost than a Land Rover main dealer. They'll likely also be able to do it all without causing damage to the car. I'd be very wary about letting a LR main dealer do something as complicated as removing the engine. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

yes its Mike Harding in Bovey Tracey one of the only local indys' to us - so was surprised they wouldn't do it - they have removed the body off a previous sport to do the turbos - so now unsure what to do 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV6 autobiography (MY17)
