Oil Filler Cap

All,

Oil change was going great and the plastic part that secures the filter cracked when I was taking it off. So I’m left with the car with no oil in and I can move it.

The LR part number is LR013147 and I can’t get anything local. Does anyone have any idea if other model parts fit?

Part image below

Thank you

You don't need to torque them up. Just tighten them till they stop turning

oh and it really helps if you fill in your profile, then I'm not assuming you have a 2.7 and giving you the wrong parts and info Rolling Eyes

New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

Based on a previous post in the L494 section I think the OP has a 2016 L494 3.0L, and why would you not bother to torque the cap up when it does actually have a figure of 25Nm moulded in to the cap for this purpose, presumably amongst other things to stop it being over tightened and possibly cracking being some sort of plastic composite material.

Cheers
Col

All,

Thank you very much for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Is there anyway to flush the oil filter section, pour some oil down it with the sump plug out? I’m a bit worried some filter material, plastic shards may have got in there?

I’ll try and update my profile, but I can see where to do that.

Regards
