Key fob central locking

Hi all, old newbie here, used to have a p38 years ago.
So now purchased Sport 2.7 2008 hst with an annoying key fob question. Only one key which has had a replacement fob. I've synced to the car, but nothing happens apart from a muffled beeping which sounds like a broken speaker.
I'm having to lick the car by using the dash button then locking passenger door with the key. That is also my way of getting in. I open the passenger door lock with the key and only that door opens, no others. Is that correct. The lock itself is stiff even though I've lubed it. Does any of this sound right to anybody. Are there fuses to check?
All help greatly appreciated as it's very annoying and rather embarrassing.

The emergency lock situation is normal.

How did you sync to car ?

Try searching for “green wire splice” related to discovery’s.

And or buy another key.
Certainly take a photo of the blade

Cheers for that. I'm gonna check that splice tomorrow. 👍

Tried the sync as,
Key in, pos 2 on and off twice.
Press unlock and hold, then press lock 3 times then let go of unlock and press both together all within 30 seconds.

OK success! Found the splice, even though mine only had two. Chopped, stripped and soldered, job done. Happy.
But.... Passenger door seems lazy to lock successfully without getting the horn beep. Suggestions welcome. Also as one problem fixed I spotted another. A fair bit of fresh clean water under the carpet. No sunroof and it had rained heavy overnight. Checked the pollen filter, seemed fine.
Where else would I check?

Door locks are unreliable on these and need changing lots. You can get cheap latches new on eBay.

Under carpet could be the door seal maybe. So many ways these leak!

I would do the air intake shield under the bonnet as it will be a problem sooner or later!

Thanks for the reply. So I need to remove the scuttle cover trim first yes?
Was also hoping to see if there were any drain holes that may blocked with leaves etc but I can't spot any. Does it have them.?

Check round the door seal for any rust signs or water.

Then yeah remove scuttle panel. Wiper removal on these is a pain.

Don’t think there are any drains to unblock

Door seal seems fine, so I've done the A bar modding and the air intake under the windscreen so hopefully that should be the end of water ingress.
