Battery life

I have a 2015 l494 which is mainly used weekends it’s probably on its original battery but after 5 days without use I get the low battery warning.
How long would you say is normal for it to last without use?
I couldn’t go on holiday and leave it at the airport. Currently using a Ctec midweek.
Any recommendations for new battery if needed.

5 or 6 years is about normal before they start to fail, so, if you are still on the original I would recommend changing it.
As long as you get the same physical size, there's no problem getting one with a higher Amp Hour.
I've used Varta before in my XFR and Bentley GT without any issues. 2015 RRS HSE Dynamic 3.0 SDV6

I have a 2015 RRS too and it’s on its original battery. Used as a 2nd car so sometimes doesn’t get used for 2 or 3 weeks. I always put it on a CTEC charger when I know I’m not using t more often. I’m under the impression that the CTEC charger can also recondition the battery so if it’s on it’s way out it could possibly fix it. I know that if I use the car for a few days then put it on charge it takes almost of full day for the CTEC charging lights to be all fully lit so I assume the car has a lot going on behind the scenes that uses a lot of battery power.

Also don’t forget about the stop/start battery,,I had same problem with one of my L494’s saying low battery,it wasn’t the main battery that was the problem it was the stop/start battery. Andy.

Changed my battery in March 2021, the previous one had lasted exactly 7 years .

That sounds a good innings to me, did you swap for exact same make and size? if yes what was/is it? I would go for that. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the info, I’ve already done a reconditioning with the Ctek so it’s probably the battery or stop start one .
Does anyone know the model numbers or decent place to order as I think I’ll try to change it myself as circa £500 at a dealership seems a liberty. 2015 RRS DIESEL HYBRID

Hi Kevin, I purchased a Yuasa from Halfords to replace the one that had died which was labelled Land Rover who would have manufactured that I don't know, have had no problems since fitting the new one which has a 5 year guarantee, I took great care fitting the it after finding instructions how to do it on this forum.
