Hi all,

Started having an issue with the steering this weekend in my 2010 3.0 tdv6 when driving around 30 to 40mph the steering feels really notchy and vibration through the steering wheel from 30mph upwards anyone had this issue before or know what it could be?

Cheers

Possibly wheel balancing and/or tracking out. But I'm no expert. Barrie.

ive got it booked in the garage for tuesday, soon as i said about it having a steering issue he said what the faults were im having before i had chance, apparently it could be the UJ on the shaft? which is a common fault for seizing up

Quite possibly UJs. This was the case when my steering got heavy. Some lubrication solved that, but I didn't have the steering wheel wobble at speed. Barrie.

so its been in the garage (still there) they have said its a front wheel bearing and front inner track rod, but upon further inspection they found the steering rack is also in need of replacing...

before they said about the steering rack, a wheel bearing, track rod also needed 2 x front tyres which i knew and tracking - £620 but now with the steering rack they said the part alone is £2k???? ive spoke to landrover Steeler who said there's are £1050 plus vat and has a surcharge

does anyone know of a reputable company to get a steering rack from? ive seen on Ebay there is one for £350 with 3yr warranty? or should i avoid Ebay?

any help would be appreciated as i need the car back haha
