Loads of faults on IID Tool - I don't think they are real !

I'm an old hand with Full Fat RR's but a newbie when it comes to L494's, I am familiar with the IID tool etc.

Its a 2014 L494 with a 3.0L Diesel
Over the last few days it has repeatedly thrown a whole pile of faults from a good number of ECU's - like 11 or 12 at the same time.
They all mention "lost communication" or "missing message" which is why I don't think they are genuine faults.
Using IID I can clear the faults and everything works fine, limp mode is gone, car drives perfectly - until the next time !

I'm thinking it's a dodgy connection issue somewhere ? So not being a L494 expert can anyone point me in the right direction to diagnose the cause or is it a known issues etc etc.

Many Thanks !

The 1st port of call with this kind of problem is always to check the main battery. They are usually only good for around 5 years, so a replacement might be necessary.
Maybe get it checked at somewhere like Halford's, etc. 2015 RRS HSE Dynamic 3.0 SDV6

Halfords won't touch an RRS's battery.

The "lost comms" messages aren't usually considered an issue unless you see the same one flagging up time after time. That might indicate an issue is building. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

After all the stories on the forum I was surprised to hear that a friend had his battery on a 2015 Sport replaced st Halfords.

He said they knew what they were doing and hooked up a "computer" during the process and all was well.
The guy did say that it only supported up to MY15. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

Interesting. When I asked them to swap the battery in my TDV8 they went away t check their list and then said they weren't allowed to touch it.

I wonder, thinking about it further, if it was a manual handling / health and safety issue. The battery for the TDV8 is like a tractor battery and quite awkward to get in / out of the battery box. It's a good lift up and over the wing. I did it myself in the end so I know how heavy it is to do. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Earthing point under either the nearside and offside front wheel arch protectors, probably due to let go at anytime due to the galvanic corrosion that the berks at LR never thought about! Maybe worth checking them anyway
