Vehicle is a 2010 3.0 TDV6, I've searched the subject on here but can't find the answer.

When it’s around 4C or lower and you start the engine there should be smoke under the front of the car and an odd smell.

Do you have the option to set the timer via the infotainment screen? The other option is a plipper that allows an instant start up of the FBH. Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

If I remember it’s located under the extra functions icon & then timed climate - is it definitely fitted to the RRS Laughing 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

The FBH doesn't always smoke - indeed I'd say it shouldn't smoke if running correctly.

Mine works and doesn't smoke and there's little, if any, smell either. A bit of condensation can be seen in the FBH exhaust stream if the vehicle is left running on a cold morning just after starting up.

Best way to see if it's working is to lift the bonnet a minute or so after starting the engine on a cold (6deg C or less) morning. You'll hear it running. Alternatively, a minute after turning on the engine on a cold morning, put your hand below the small pipe sticking down in the near side wheel arch. You'll feel the exhaust gases. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks Andy, very helpful. Having watched the video, I have heard it running in the past and noticed the snowflake on the dash, it however doesn't have the option for timed settings, possibly something that can be done via a software update

Hi,

in your picture the FBH exhaust is at the very bottom with the pipe to it on the right from the unit itself, the pipe on the left is the air intake, so you can Carefully Whistle check to see if the exhaust gets hot to check if its running
you can also connect to it via webasto software from memory its using the Red wire which you have on your unit if you want another way to play investigate it Laughing

Thumbs Up
