New brembo callipers

New brembos arrived from ebay, One had come looking decent but the other is nothing alike, Wondering now if they’re off same car.

That'll be a no then.

One looks like a 4 pot and the other 6.

If it were 6 pot the size difference would be noticeable and the number of pistons pushing against the pad

Maybe other isn’t off a sport ? Do the mounting points align ?

Do they come in black and a grey colour? Cant tell if i have one of each colour here so they could have come off different cars or if the grey one will clean up black like the other one?

Anyone know what will clean the grey one up? Cheers

I would say they came of different cars, the TDV8 I had were 4 pot brembos but they were finished in grey but had Range Rover stickers on them, the black one I would say is a Brembo factory finished one in black as their paint finish is far superior to L/R's own. Ask anybody who specked their cars with the red calipers about the the rear one's paint finish.

Cheers
Col

Hi Col Thats what i was thinking, Looking on ebay and there seems to be the black nice looking brembo ones and the grey, I thought the grey one was covered in brake dust and would clean up the same as the black one which would be a result. Now im not sure if its worth getting them both reconditioned, Found a company local who offer this service and paint the rears same colour aswell, although i prefer the black gloss look.

Anyone used this company for theres reconditioning or would i be wise to buy the 6 pots which are off the newer motors and wont need reconditioning?

With 6 pot's you would need the 380mm discs as well. I have had cars with both 4 & 6 pot's under normal driving conditions can't say I noticed much difference until you really stand on them.

Cheers

Thats good to know mate, My main reason is the looks and better then the standard fronts i have are pretty poor stopping, I will speak to this company ssl in wakefield see what they say in regards to these 2 callipers i have and go from there. I also found these discs and pads which are 360mm are these the right size? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-SPO...635-2958-0

360mm are the standard size disc's for the TDV8 4 pot's, on my S/C I actually run EBC discs and pad's with no problems. I was always a little wary of the advertised brembo grooved and drilled disc, as brembos never originally listed a drilled grooved disc for the Sport, they were genuine plain brembo discs but sent to a machine shop and modified by a supplier and then put back in the original box and simply sold as Brembo drilled and grooved. They could actually produce them now the part number etched on the disc will tell you that.

Cheers

Are the rear discs 250mm?

Found this front and rear set with pads all under £300 says front 360 and rear 350mm

I believe the rears are 350mm or to be exact 354mm according to w/shop manual, although on the S/C with 6 pot front callipers the rears are 365mm.

Cheers
