I had bad corrosion to both rear brake lines (6 years old) thanks Tyrefitter for your 2019 post concerning these. Seems like they are a well known weak point on these cars. Your photos helped me confirm with my motor factor the correct parts needed. Amazing how the main lines that these connect to are like new in comparison. Definitely something for owners to look at before the end of 3 years warranty.

Is there any special procedure for bleeding the brakes on the L494?
As I’ve replaced the rear brake lines and using clamps, minimised the loss of fluid, I had to bleed just the rear calipers (I assume the fronts will be OK, as I didn’t disconnect the brake lines). I tried using a Gunson Eazibleed where 20psi is applied to the reservoir, but very little came out af the bleed nipples. I should say I didn’t try the traditional two man way pumping the pedal. I’ve read that there is a specific LR procedure, maybe involving having the engine running, etc. Has anybody got hands on experience of L494 brake bleeding? 2016 L494 HSE

Around 10 mins a side just let it flow out and pedal was mint

Thanks for all the responses and advice, I should’ve left them bleeding for longer. Spent 10 minutes today bleeding them the traditional 2 man way, very small amount of air in one side and job done. So I had actually bled one side
Think I was surprised that using an eazibleed providing 20 psi to the reservoir, it didn’t bleed faster. Just had to check here that there wasn’t some technicality that meant it couldn’t be done traditionally.
