England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Siberian Silver
Centre console lid latch broken.

Is it possible to mend this silver latch or buy just the lid ? Local dealer wants £200 + vat + fitting. £400 before you can blink.....

It's just the lugg that holds the spring mechanism that has broken on one side.

I've got the cover off but the latch looks like its glued in.

Any thoughts guys ? Thanks.......

As suggested took out the 8 screws and the problem was a small bar that had worked loose.

Re- aligned and bobs your uncle it's sorted and the dealer wanted £400 to sort it....... Hmmmmmmm..

Mr. peachy wins hero of the day award and deservedly so.......

Many thanks. Have pics of the fix if need be. Start to finish it took 10 mims and a convo with the main man ......

Done........ Very Happy Whistle

Mine had exactly this problem but sorted now thanks to Peachy and Byreman. Bow down

Only had my '08 for a few weeks now and can't belive how over engineered somethings like this latch are. Fiddily clips and all but a drop of crazy glue and this would never have happened in the first place. Sad

No I would't think so. It is a completely different latch design.

The center console latch is very loose and sits skew when broken, and doesn't work at all. But as yours works after a slam or two then possibly just needs an adjustment or maybe something has fallen into, and jamming the mechanisim?

BTW most of the chrome as flaked off mine Big Cry

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi,

I have the same issue as described in OP I have the lid off but can't seem to find a way to separate the inner from the leather lid to give me access to the catch... Does anyone know how to separate these two parts?

Cheers
JD
