Front offside driveshaft removal

Apologies for another post on my quest to replace my offside driveshaft seal.

After a lot of wrestling under the car with various pry bars I finally managed to pop the offside driveshaft out tonight. Brilliant, I thought, I can now get the seal replaced and start putting it back together.

I was swiftly foiled when I tried to remove the driveshaft. Its obviously the longer of the two and, as pictured, there is not enough room to fully remove it as the rear half gets caught between the suspension strut, etc. Try as I might, I cannot find any guides anywhere as to what else I need to remove to be able to get the beast out.

Does anyone else know what I might need to take off so as to be able to extract it? I am thinking possibly the lower ball joint on the hub could be popped out and then the hub dropped lower or removed and this might allow it to come out a bit lower and clear the strut etc?

Thanks

Don’t recall having this problem when I did mine, looking at your picture the drop link is still in place, checked the LR workshop manual and it says to remove it. Steve

Brilliant - thanks very much - will give this a go.

Probably a stupid question but where can I get a copy of the workshop manual?
