I have just bought a 2011 RRS SC AB after lingering on here for a while. I will add a proper hello and add some pics when I get the chance.

My first question.

Is it ok to keep the C-TEK on it.

I have used one before on my previous cars without an issue. I Just left it going 24-7

But this thing has so much electronic stuff I thought I would ask before regretting it.

Welcome, Left mine on 3 months at a time when used to work overseas and never had any problems of any kind.

Use mine when I know car won’t be used for a couple of weeks. No problems at all. I would say it does it good. It’s the only time the stop start works once been hooked up for a day.

all the previous sports have easily lasted 3-4 weeks and started fine
if I knew it would be longer or no good runs in the colder months I would stick the (Lidl) charger on via the tow socket,
it would stay connected until next time I went into the garage

Its only going to be a weekend car as I use a van in the week.

I have been caught out with my previous S Max and M5, Both didnt like being left for more than 2 weeks even with good batteries fitted.

I’m pretty certain the car tells you the battery is low and to start the engine to charge the battery. It certainly tells you when you get in the car via the display screen . Almost certain it tells you on your phone too via incontrol app.

Ctek charger, comfort connector, job done.

More important, if the vehicle is to be a weekend car, make sure any use is for a decent period. A few short runs will lead to a full DPF and oil dilution issues. The car generally won't appreciate short runs anyway. Short runs equals a dash full of coloured lights. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The Incontrol app is not compatible with the RRS1 and will not work on that model, unless someone has found a way of installing it.
