Yes, that does make sense. He's referring to the worm gear within the EPB actuator. It's the bit that drives the cables that the brake shoes connect to. If the gears are stripped within the actuator, you don't need a new actuator (£££). You can buy a rebuild kit - part number DA9223. If the brake linings are physically jammed inside the brake drum, the actuator could be released and you'd still have no movement. You mention that the cables were cut and it still wouldn't move - that suggests the problem is at the brake end of the system, not the module. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
