Personally I would go for a spare wheel even if only a space saver, repair kit would probably be o.k if only a puncture, but if you are unlucky enough to damage the tyre or rim on say a pothole you are stuffed, and lets be honest there are enough of them in the UK or certainly used to be.

I support Col's thoughts here. I clipped a broken kerb in a previous car, ripped the sidewall and had to wait for the breakdown truck to get me home 2 hours late. Robin
