I note that all new Sports appear to be supplied with a Tyre Repair Kit rather than any sort of spare wheel. I have also seen that most 'pre-specified' cars at dealers do not have a spare wheel option included.
Can anyone advise how effective the Tyre Repair Kit is in practice or is it a better idea to pay extra for a spare wheel if only the £150 Reduced Section Spare Wheel option?
I presume also that if you have the Repair Kit you don't get a jack or wheel brace included with the car?

Personally I would go for a spare wheel even if only a space saver, repair kit would probably be o.k if only a puncture, but if you are unlucky enough to damage the tyre or rim on say a pothole you are stuffed, and lets be honest there are enough of them in the UK or certainly used to be.

I support Col's thoughts here. I clipped a broken kerb in a previous car, ripped the sidewall and had to wait for the breakdown truck to get me home 2 hours late. Robin

Thanks for your comments. I guess the extra £150 for a Space saver wheel (which I understand includes the jack etc) gives you additional peace of mind ....... (and potentially less hassle or delay getting home!!)
