New owner - sidestep removal

Hi all, I'm due to collect a lowish mileage 2010 RRS 3.0 HSE tomorrow. I started looking for a loadlugger for a house renovation I'm about to start, and have always liked the RRS so somehow landed on one despite them not being as practical as my initial list!

The car is black and I think it might look less fussy without the silver sidesteps. I see some with and some without - were they an optional extra or only on certain models?

And are they easy to remove....?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Thumbs Up

Easier to remove than install & I’ve done a few but beware the clips may need replacing on certain trim pieces. The sills have to be cut to allow the brackets to fasten to the chassis but you won’t see that once they are removed unless you look underneath.

Thanks Peachy.

I also wondered about painting them black so they didnt stand out against the black paintwork so much. Do most owners prefer having them would you say?

I wouldn’t be without them. I’m 6ft 3 so climbing in & out is not a problem but IMO they make the L320 look sportier & aid smaller passengers.

They also stop some car doors hitting you in parking places.

Ok, thanks. Maybe I’ll stick with them for a while. I might try painting them black if I decide to keep them.
