I've recently purchased a 2011 TDV6 and discovered how truly excellent our 'Media systems' were at this time! In reality, and given how nice the dashboard looks, i'd love to keep my phone in my pocket and to update the system by adding Carplay.

I've seen a few companies offer this with wildly ranging prices (listed below). Has anyone used or installed any of these systems and can vouch for their quality/function?

I tried searching but can't find any real history on this forum of their use apart from the odd sales thread or similar.

Unique Auto - they don’t currently offer a unit that fits. Apparently my 2011 is in an awkward changeover year that uses a later Denso system (compared to the >2009 systems) but is different to the later Bosch system (approx 2012>). They are looking to add this however and have taken my details to contact once developed.

Naviplus - they DO have a compatible system. However, they are in Australia, quite expensive and I’d worry about aftersales support.

DMP - is not compatible.

I have a facelift 2010 and have been through the same journey as you. I haven't yet found anything that is compatible

Be sure to get in touch with Unique Auto - the more names they have on their list, the more motivation they’ll have to get the development over the line


As I say, there is definitely at least one unit available from Oz - but that’s just a little too much risk/cost for my taste.

In Car Music have put their price up from £570 to £899!???!!

No chance i'll be doing that then

You can be sure that the OZ company buy it in from China!

The units for the OZ naviplus outfit actualy say made in Korea on them, or at least the one I have laid around here does.

No, not really just says Netplay i60 made in Korea on the unit. Looks like Netplay may be a India company.

No never did get around to fitting it yet, still laid in the garage somewhere. The one I have is for the MY12/13 cars, which have the later screen display, they did list a different version for the MY10/11 cars though.

I actually have a NaviPlus unit on its way for my 2010 RRS.
The installation is entierly different to the 2012/13 model and from what I can see on the installation instructions sent to me is a little daunting.. but.. we will see.

There are several parts to the system... there is an interface box, the Navi Plus unit and a couple of new boards to cope with the SWC.
We have gone with the wireless unit so the phone doesnt need to be physically connected.
Hoping the unit will be here today but I wont get to do the install till around the 26th.
