2011 RRS 3.0 TDV6

I've just tried to get the oil level sensor changed but have been told that the engine needs to come out to do it, which is far too much time to justify changing it.


Do you know if they're right about this please? A previous mechanic, who I don't trust actually, had told me that it's a reasonably quick change.

Hi I’m sure it can be done with engine in and drop the sump but a cross member has to be removed to allow this.Im sure those more informed and wiser than myself will give you a more exact response.Hope you get sorted.

From what I've read on here, no the engine doesn't have to come out, but the front diff does to access the sump. All in all a lot of labour for a cheap sensor replacement, and becoming more common.
There are a number of posts on here, have a search. I don't know if anyone posted costs though, which would probably be helpful for you.
