Technical its the missus motor and we pay for this year £640 with admiral £130 less than the AA from last year with 2 years ncd , it's a case of shopping around and the postcode lottery, even though the AA offered a £4 discount to keep the price the same as last year.

Though i shop around atm due to covid and lack of work some of the quotes was as high as £12K on the go compare sites and some don't even quote to insure, i'm sure its down to the damage you can do in a 3 ton motor compared to the light little motors on the road now.

Which i cant see why the premiums are so high as insurers only pay book value so have a slight bump and need a bumper replaced and the car will be written off.

I know it is of no use in the UK but just wondered if the AA do it there, down here with the AA you can also insure the car for an agreed value not just current market value, cost's me about the equivalent of £500.00 fully comp. with agreed value of £40k if written off etc. for the car worth about £15k. Laughing Also as they have had less claims due to Covid 19 lockdown actualy had a rebate on premium. Must be a first insurance company giving money back with out being asked.

Cheers
Col

Went on Meerkat when I got the car last month and found it for £410 with AA including business use and wife as other driver. 6 years NCB.

Co-incidentally got an email from the AA offering a 10% reduction. Good deal I thought, save £40. Went direct on their website. £795!!!!!!

I knew my insurance was coming up for renewal & I've been with LV for several years so was slightly worried due to some of the comments on here about their refusal to insure, so I was pleasantly surprised this morning at their quote of £285 fully comp last year I paid £320.

So what did Craigb86, the original poster eventually pay. Its so annoying that people ask questions, get advice either good/bad & do not have the curtesy to return & give the answer to their problem. 35, fair few years NCB.

Just moved from 630i to 3L RRS.

Think I paid around £300 for the 630i, bought the RRS at around 6 months in and had to pay a further £150

So expecting around £550 for next year.

Same and strangely enough ours went up £3 from last year. £179 for me & £210 for my wife’s SAAB, again plus house insurance. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Motor Insurance Rates - holding stable

Generally, motor rates are holding stable. In the last 12-18months, with minimal driving, a much lower incident rates, means lower losses. Plus changes in legislation, have reduced projected losses especially around whiplash claims. So motor rates are not moving forward by a large amount.

If you can have insured and partner, max ncb, security (for RRS) generally premiums should be OK.
