Reverse Camera and Parking Sensor

Hi

Thought Id post my first post here after saying hi on the welcome forum,

So I brought my girlfriend her first RRS off a family member as I said in my first post with a known issues, it wasn’t being used much as it was tucked away in their garage as we got a new range, one by one I’m hoping to fix these for her so we can get this old beauty back up and running near on as she was new. First issue I’d address is the reverse camera and parking sensors, I have looked around on forums here and have gone into diagnostics menu and the video section is “fuzzy” as the photo is showing. When we start the car up the error comes on screen saying contact your dealer and we’ve noticed the parking sensors have stopped working.

I hope this helps

James

Hi James

I had exactly the same issues - including no parking sensors, no parking camera and when you went into the screens you eventually found a reversing camera image that was very poor. Luckily it turned out to be all caused by one front bumper sensor. I had mine diagnosed by a garage in Bicester and all fixed (including the removal of front bumper) for about £250.

Have a look at my thread on the issue here:

Hi silverstone

Thanks for your reply, I’ve had a look at your post and seems to be in depth. Does it look like I’ll need to take it in to have it looked at? Nothing I can fiddle with? The image I have on her range is is the same image you have give or take.

Kind regards

James

I’m not very electric savvy so took it to a Land Rover specialist. If you are sharper than me you might be able to work out which sensor has gone and replace it. There are some brilliant people on here who can tell you more from a practical perspective. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

Hi All, Sorry to hijack but I have the same fault, 3 second high pitch beep when i turn on ignition followed by a message (camera not available) plus the sensors dont work,
I have checked my looms out, seems undamaged. I have downloaded a app to detect the ultrasonics and all sensors are down with this fault so I cant id a faulty unit.
My local garage cannot diagnose to a particular senspor and I have gone into the hidden menu to find the same image on the video tab as above.
My questions, are there 2 loudspeakers for the beeping? if so it sound like the sound comes from the front.
All my fron sensors appear ro have a slight crack arround the dealing compound on the rear, but is there a way to diagnose them individually? or should I buy one and keep moving it until the fault goes? Also can the covers be swapped as my two outers are body coloured.

Hey

I still don’t have the issue resolved mate and I also have the Adem high pitched sound when the cars started, you say you have a app can you tell me where to look for this? What’s it do etc? I’ve nosed around in this site and it seems I found a website dealing with specific Range Rover parts you might want to look at, the sensors are really not that bad of a price if you know how to fit them

Thanks Mate, I have had them all out and checked the connections for crust etc but all seem ok. I just cant confirm which sensors are good internally etc.
I just downloaded a free app from app store, checked on my Audi and it worked. It seems all my RR sensors are "off" when in faukt mode so its not possible to determine which one it is....

Yeah I saw that, I was able to get to my rear sensors by removing the 4 posi drive screws from underneith (autobiography bumpers) and the front I needed to remove lights, grill and top 6 screws so I could get the sensors from the top, easy to unclip them when you can get to them., the sensors are a plastic shell then filled in by a resin, I noticed all 4 front have a small gap which must let water in, might be a common problem.
Ill start with swapping them one by one then checking each time. Just be annoyed if it turns out to be a body coloured one as ill need to paint it.
