Whether or not it would affect the resale,,, not sure,, the bottom line is it has been serviced. For your own piece of mind if you think you can trust whoever carried out the work,, ok but if you have the slightest doubt as to their ability to service landrover vehicles to a high standard I would look at having it done again. Wouldn't necessarily go to a dealer for the work but find a good indie you can trust,,, or a recommendation at least you will feel safe in the fact that correct grades of oil and filters are used and not some Chinese cardboard copy. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Hi Rob, I get my car serviced by my local garage not LR . I’m thinking of getting a big service done soon by The Green Oval which are in Wetherby and Guildersome and have a very good reputation. My local garage is good for the interim services but want a specialist to do major services I think. My car has done 41k and is 2015 year so I think it’s all fluid changes but will need to verify exactly what needs doing. I’m West Yorkshire too. |

they probably did oil and filter, air filter and thats it, i put mine in to a good independent for a full service with fuel filter plus front and rear diff oils and transfer box oil, next service is a minor one so i will change the gearbox oil as well |

Do people buying cars that have already had 2 or 3 owners bother about full dealer service history? I doubt it. What's important is that it's been serviced on time etc. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I agree with the above. Having a record of the serving carried out on time is the main thing.

So on to my next question who’s the best in your opinions RRS specialist in my local area West Yorkshire Leeds,Huddersfield,Halifax,Bradford ish I am guessing they will have more knowledge then the actual main dealer or this has been my experience in the past with the performance cars I have had. |

So you are saying you wouldn't pay £100 less for the same service carried out by somebody with more experience???

The cars just over 4yrs old and for the extra £100 well £580 in total I think for the peace of mind and to keep the service records impeccable I will use main dealer, I was shocked the saving was so little with specialist and one was a little hard sale mentioning the fuel filter blocks up in these models which I don’t think is the case. I shopped around to find a main agent I felt happiest with we all know they just want to take as much money off you as possible. Hey least I have piece of mind and I appreciate the dealer had it serviced he is in my opinion an excellent honest as they come car dealer and would recommend him to anyone. |

Exactly John, I like to keep my cars well maintained and with good history because it’s a duplicate service I would have used specialist to do it but the saving being so small I might as well make the history perfect. I might only keep it 2 years and want to get a newer model and perfect history certainly won’t hurt a Px or sale later down the line. |
