Mpg on a run

Not very good that's what it is..
I did a 100 mile round trip from home to near regent's Park in London today.
Only averaged 16.7 mpg in the supercharged.. I thought it would do better than that. My 4.4 X5 will get mid 20's on a run

36mpg? Were you turning the engine off on the downhill sections? Shocked

Wow, that's impressive. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Recently did a 217 mile segment averaging over 81 mph, came in at 16.7 mpg which is acceptable for that speed in my opinion. 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE

Cruising at around 90 i tend to do 21 mpg on the 50 mile commute. Turn it down and cruise at 65-70 and i usually see just over 30.

I too can get nice high mpg when on a run and up to speed I reset the mpg setting then take the value while still on the cruise. Of course as soon as you add in town running, like from home to wherever that may include sub 30 mph at several points then this will significantly alter values, probably to a more realistic value. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Trip to the coast, mostly motorway. Cruise control set to 72mph 36.1mpg.

Return trip was 34.7 i think.

Car averages around 26 mostly around town and light motorway use. L494 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Chile Red (Current)

Is that miles per US gallon? In which case it's not bad at all. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

My SDV6 averages around 25mpg but that's on AT tyres (they do use a bit more fuel, sadly, and they're 55 profile which means the car thinks it's doing slightly fewer miles than it really is but only by a couple of %), and a lot of minor roads which means lots of braking and accelerating. Sit on a motorway at a constant speed and the economy improves as might be expected, so long as the speed is moderate. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

400 mile round trip to Devon last weekend, 95% motorway/fast A road, 36mpg there, 38mpg back, cruise set at 77. Make this run regularly and these are about right. Only going off the trip computer though, reality might be a bit different but I'm not complaining.

Yes miles per US gallon. I pushed it for a few miles at over 100 mph and the real-time mpg was showing 13.7 which I thought was impressive. I don’t know how accurate it is/was but I can say my RRS drives better at 80 mph than it does 30 mph. Quite the beast Thumbs Up 2020 SVR / R.I.P. 2019 SVR / 2016 D4 Landmark / 2005 D3 HSE
