Definitive answer on L320 TDV8 egr delete

Apologies firstly if the topic has been covered. Ive spent some time merrily searching the forum and reading up on TDV8 egrs, but can’t locate a definitive answer.

The TDV8 i’ve just bought has an egr signal low error. This suggests one side is seized or clogged, with one possible solution being to remove and replace. Not beyond my capabilities but i know access is limited and the job is a pain.

The other possibility is to blank off and remove the egr setting from the ecu. I have a supplier who can do the digital part of this.

The question is whether the latter is a good thing to do, and from my research here, it seems a split viewpoint with a slight leaning towards no!

I’m keen to find out more, and wondered if more experienced members could give me some pros and cons over and above the MOT issues.

Thanks for any guidance offered or pointing me in the direction of posts i’ve yet to find.

Lots more on the sister Full Fat forum as the engine was standard in these until 2009ish.
My take is this: blank them off with a kit and then delete from ECU. No more hassle or risk of them degrading.
Who are you using for the delete? Alive Tuning or Bell Auto Services are the "go to" for LR ECU stuff Bow down

DIY for blanks. Easy job.

Appreciated.

JC tuning is who I have found so far. Brother in Law uses them a lot for work he does on various LRs.

Not wedded to them and will search round as a check, so thanks for the links Thumbs Up
