United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey
Clock And Date resetting

Guys.

I was wondering if anyone has come across this issue. I have a 2013 RRS and twice now when turning the engine off I have noticed that the date and time has reset back to default. The first time I did see a battery icon light up but tonight I didn’t. Car starts first time every time.

I’ve seen this which might point to the issue but was wondering if anyone had had any experience of this issue at all?

Certainly defaults back to 2009 if battery disconnected, how old is your battery? may be on it's last legs. Do you still have window one touch function?

Cheers

Actually it’s funny that you mention that. One touch down works but I’m sure one touch up has stopped. Although holding button down window does go up all the way.

I’m not 100% sure how old the battery is. Will take a look tomorrow and see if I can spot anything. Get my multimeter out and see what it’s reading. ===========================================

The reason I mentioned the "one touch" feature is you generally need to reset that if the battery has been disconnected as well.

Fully operate the window down and then fully up without letting go of the switch, when all the way back up just release switch and then operate the switch up again in the fully closed position and hold for a couple of seconds, will have to do each window individually, might need to reset sunroof as well if you have one fitted. Job done. Thumbs Up

So got out this morning and lifted the bonnet.

I can see on the battery this but I am still none the wiser on the actual date of this battery.

So I got the multimeter on the battery. With ignition off it was registering around 12.50.

With the ignition running it took maybe a good 30 seconds or so to get up 13.98 / 14V

I then got my Mrs to hold the accelerator pedal down for 10 seconds and can see the volts 14.76 and rising but that’s the picture I snapped at the time.

So what do we think? Seem ok?

I did tighten the battery bolts up. They were not loose but did take a half turn extra to where I felt they were more secure. ===========================================

Thanks for the tip.
Just disconnected and trickle charged mine as battery was running low due to lack of use for ages.
Worked perfect, windows now go up with one touch
