2.7 EGR replacement

Anyone had it done recently and if so what was the cost? I'm getting an intermittent P045B and P045C codes coming up. Thanks.

Thanks, Devon Z. Assume you didn't need to map it out as you're an early car?

Through my research you don’t need to remap the EU3 engines (2.7) EU4 (3.0) need a software patch.

One of the reasons I chose an early car the more a diyer can do with it. Steve

Later 2.7's need a patch after blanking as well, 2007 rings a bell but I may be wrong with the date.
It is apparently an MOT fail to alter the emission equipment, so make sure that the pipework is replaced after the shims are fitted meaning it looks standard at a glance. Of course if your insurance company finds out, they may void your policy.
That being said, lots of RRS and D3 owners have done it.

Hi all - being doing a bit more research on this. So my car is an 8A chassis so will definitely need a patch.

Been looking at Bell Autos and I see that I can buy a patch but presumably I need an IID or similar to get that onto the car or have I missed the point? Or alternatively get someone to do the patch for me.

I'd prefer DIY but interested in people's opinions. Thx.

Blank it with an eBay kit and then if you get an EML then there is a local Somerset chap that can help. Need to find his name for you. Better still, buy an IID Bluetooth and then get the Bell Auto Services patch done over internet. Get the lot from Bell.
The IID will pay for itself over and over again and hold their value exceptionally well Thumbs Up

Thanks, DrRob. Seriously thinking about a IID. Would have helped me out on my air compressor issue, I think.

Is Woody32 still active? Can't see anything on the forums after 2019 from him.
