Part number for MY16 rear view mirror with high beam assist

Hi,

Slightly niche request...I'm looking to retrofit the high beam assist to my MY16 HSE Dynamic, but after buying the wrong mirror (I believe they changed them for MY16) I'm trying to find what the correct part is.

Could someone with a MY16 car that HAS high beam assist, but DOESN'T have other features such as traffic sign recognition or lane assist, let me know what the part number is? It should be stamped on the rear of the mirror.

For example, my old one is DPLA-17E678-DA. The one I bought, which is wrong and an older version, is DPLA-17E678-AA.
I think the correct Land Rover number is LR070786 but not 100%, but ideally need the other part format as above to correctly source one.

Many thanks! MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

Would it not be the same part if you had high beam assist and traffic sign recognition??

I'm led to believe that they're different, with the high beam just being a sensor, whereas if you've also got traffic sign recognition it becomes a proper "camera".

I think this could then throw up other problems, like needing switches for lane assist, changing the way adaptive cruise/forward alert works...I'm trying to keep it relatively simple! Laughing

Might be wrong, though! Maybe we can confirm if someone with each posts up their mirror part numbers. MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

Did not know that. Though I assumed the front camera is used for traffic sign recognition. I have switched on front camera whilst driving and you do see the whole road ahead...

Though the speed and distance perception is totally off...things look alot further away and speed looks very fast on the screen.

If it is the same I can have a look for you. If not then not much point..sorry.

I'm only going on second hand information really, but hopefully can get to the bottom of it all soon enough.

If you wouldn't mind having a look for the part number and letting me know what year/trim level you have, plus what options you have it'd be hugely helpful!

And probably just give me more ideas about what to retrofit! Laughing MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

My car is a 2016 MY2016 AB.

It has the lane keep assist
Adaptive cruise control with que assist, speed limiter
Traffic sign recognition
Rear traffic approach
360 deg parking sensors and camera
Auto High Beam Assist

Amongst a few other bits.

It is - thanks!

Though I can't quite make out the top line from the photo - the one with (presumably) 17E678 in the middle. Could you type it out?

Thanks MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

It is GPLA 17E678-GC

Though I will need to physically double check on the mirror as it looks like it could possibly be GG or CC.

will check later..as I am at work. Thumbs Up

Top man! Thank you very much. Thumbs Up

Now ideally I'd like someone with just high beam assist to confirm what their mirror part number is - it'll be interesting to see if LR decided to use one mirror with the camera (like yours) or have a separate one with a light sensor when it's just high beam assist.

Any takers?! Very Happy

Otherwise I'll just have to pick one up and do some trial and error fitments...which will probably be an expensive mistake Laughing MY16 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Dynamic

That's great - thank you!

Does yours look like it has a sensor (probably a green and red dot - I'll attach a photo) rather than a camera?

If so, that's probably confirmation of the difference between just having AHBA and having TSR/other things like Ash has.

Cheers

Thats correct that one in the pic is just the AHBA set up the one for AHBA and TSR and lane dep warning has the small camera in it

If you have a the GAP diag tool you can swap over and then enable the functions (with a little help form Pat at GAP

I bought a USA version that also has the door opener (this does not work in the UK different signals frequency used)

You need a second hand one so that is already has firmware on it (I believe the new ones are blank and then need to be programmed up) the second hand one will be recognised by the car but will need the firmware updated on it so your car can talk to it, (Pat at Gap can supply this, as he has worked with me and another guy on getting this to work, bug thanks to him for that)

Once the firmware has been updated you use the gap tool to re-prog some CCF files and then the car will see the new mirror and is functions.

Mine had AHBA, but now has AHBA, TSR and Lane Dep Warning (the lane dep warning also needs another update so the car knows it has some steering well set up so the vibrations will work)

The pic shows the smaller looking one (that is the camera version) the other is the AHBA version.

If swapping to the camera type (they are quite hard to find too I bought form the US) you will also need a new cover for the bottom of the camera to the screen but this is only a few quid)

Part number AHBA mirror = DPLA 17E678 AA
Part number for Camera mirror with = LR052599 (there is one on the bay item number eBay Item No. 233014603892)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-2016-OEM-L...3014603892

The mirror is the same as the L405 so can go for either if you can find one.

The one I bought is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233486385120?eu...,osub=osub

The DLPA and DK numbers are not part numbers so to speak they are design/drawing/spec numbers or similar

http://new.lrcat.com/#!/12133/147042/148156/12045/148159 this shows you the part and then a list of part numbers but you need to look at this also

https://allbrit.de/epc.cfm?PAGE=5011105&am...SPRACHE=EN that shows the different versions of the mirror and the features then have

Its pretty hard work to work it all out but from what I can gather if the mirror itself has the camera on it then TSR and AHBA and lane dep can all be activated using the gap tool (dont quote me on it thought I bought a part that had eveything on it just to be sure)

Basically you need to look at the second link (its a parts breakdown of the L494 (its german but not too bad) that helps fine the part you need then use the first link (which is Russian) and do the same but this seems to have the LR part numbers on it, next you you then need to try an work out the function I have a PDF of the part numbers and the functions its in my gallery if it doesnt work PM me

To be honest this has been hard work researching but with some re-programming help form Pat at Gap its all working!

Hope this helps and apologies if Ive made it more confusing? Its much easier to explain this verbally!

Happy for a PM though and I did say I was gonna right this up when I get the time If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

HI mate

That I am not sure of but have a word with Pat at GAP (the support email and he will answer) I think it might need to be programmed by a dealer first and then once is has the firmware on it you can play around or re-flash it with a different version of the firmware to get the car to see the additional functions and then edit the CCF files to enable TSR with Lane Dep (if you have a later car you might be able to try the lane keep assist but that only came out I think at 2016/2017.

You could give it a go using JLR SD software on a laptop and then buying a Mongoose cable, the JLR SD is the same software the dealer use and can do more than the GAP tool but is also much more dangerous at the same time.

I got the cable from here https://www.uobdii.com/wholesale/best-jlr-mangoose-sdd-pro.html

I downloaded the software from here https://blog.uobdii.com/free-download-jlr-...etc-works/

I installed the software and got it connected (I only wanted to program some keys I bought for a project (I think Pat is working on that for the GAP tool now anyway so I didnt bother and ran out of time) I might try it again if I get a chance.

Might be best to speak to an Indy who has the JLR software and ask them, or speak with the service department at an LR dealer and ask them what they charge (just say the kids broke the old mirror and you bought a new one (it would have come from LR anyway as there are no aftermarket versions) the might charge labour but might be the quickest route.

I think they will only program the features the car originally came with, they seem to get funny about adding in other functions that are not part of you original spec.

IF you go on the Topix site you can find out the spec of an LR car if you have the vin number (I used the vin for the car my mirror came from and looked it up on Topix and the spec list said it had TSR (if you use the ebay link in this post it has the vin on the advert so you can have a butchers yourself).

or this site https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lookup/

I think the new mirror is blank and needs to be flashed and I dont think the GAP tool can do it if it doesnt register on the the ECU list it should come us with something like this

#The vin in this is from the car it came from and not mine but even after the update the vin remains the same, so I think the dealers basically assign the vin for you car to the item and then install the firmware and then it will just work with the original features the car had from new. They wont edit CCF files even if you ask and pay, (this could have been a nice earner for them aftermarket function programming)

Have a work with Pat though he might be able to help but if the tool cant see or talk to the mirror then it might be the route of speak with a dealer and see what they say and if they charge silly money then maybe go down the software route yourself, I would think an indy might be able to help if they specialise in LR.

Good luck mate if I can help then just ping and ill see what I can do If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
