I serviced the range rover Wednesday, while i was on i replaced the front ARB bushes. (still chasing a knock). In the last 2 months i have replaced the front bottom arms and track rod ends, and also had the tracking done correctly on a hunter system. All was fine untilll i replaced the ARB bushes. Knock has mostly gone, but not completely, but the steering wheel is now out. If i hold it straight it will go over to the other side of the road. Not a problem as such as i can move the wheel round, but i have never experienced the ARB bushes moving the steering wheel before, and i have done a lot on other cars. Loose the wheel and it drives straight as an arrow.
Anyone else ever heard of this before ?

If you move the steering wheel the angle sensor will still be out.

Yeah these are odd cars.
lR dealer inspected mine and the wheel was further out afterwards.

Maybe you have warn bushes

A lot of the bushes have been replaced, i don't think the steering angle sensor will alter with removing the steering wheel and replacing it straight. The car was slightly pulling to the left before the ARB bushes were replaced. Now it pulls straight but it's made the wheel out, But by quite a bit. I can always reset the sensor i suppose if it does throw an error.

I was taking mine for alignment and rather enthustically pushed it out of a roundabout.
The dsc kicked in and I got some braking applied for me

I had the steering angle sensor showing faults after i did the lower front arms and track rod ends. It was like driving on ice, with the dashboard lit up like christmas. 2 x new tyres and 4 wheel alignment put this right, and it drives good now.

I pulled my steering wheel back central by slight adjustment of the track rods, as long as you tweak them by the same amount one in one out will not alter tracking, the amount of thread showing on the rod is supposed to be within a couple of mm of each other. Reset steering angle sensor afterwards, wheel now dead centre and drives as straight as a die and alignment spot on.

Do you have the active/hydraulic ARB on yours squizzel?

Silly question probably, but you didn't adjust the track rods for any reason did you? Kev

No i just have the normal ARB's. When i fitted the bottom arms a couple of months ago, i replaced the 2 track rod ends at the same time. I had 2 new tyres fitted the week before. I had 4 wheel tracking and all was fine until i fitted the ARB bushes.
I tried adjusting the track rods today equally, but to straighten the wheel it caused the car to pull to one side. I had marked the track rod so i put it back to where it was and then removed the steering wheel and straightened that. Car is now all straight and i checked the tracking and everything seems good now. Still have a slight knock but better than it was.
