There is a Technical Bulletin titled "LTB00358v5 - Secondary Turbo Oil Leak Excessive Exhaust Smoke" on TOPIx.

Since i`m no from the UK, hope that i`m still allowed to answer your question Had the same thing after the anual service and a repair on the engine (not the turbo). LR had to remove the plastic turbo pipe to make the repair. During the reinstal they obviously damaged it, so when i picked it up, it blew the famous tons of blue smoke. After replacing the cracked turbo pipe (of course not under guaranty, since they just denied damaging it) there was no more smoke. Hope this helps! I have exactly the same on a 4.4 full fat range rover which only started after the turbos were warranty replaced. What is it exactly that's causing the blue smoke in your cases? Mine only seems to do it after a long run and only when I slow back down eh in traffic. Only lasts about 10mins or so and then is fine again with no smoke until the next time. |

Ielk2001 - best go over to www.fullfatrr.com for your issue as the 4.4 is a totally different engine to the 3.0 RRS motor.

Does it happen over 2800rpm? Mine was the same and was fixed by the secondary turbo oil drain mod. Cost me £330 at the local indy. L494 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Chile Red (Current) L320 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Baltic Blue (RIP 29/03/2021 insurance total loss) |

Mine is the same although mine (full fat RR 4.4) only started after both turbos were replaced. Only intermittent too and I'm in UK. Will let you all know once fixed what was wrong but any ideas welcome as garage have already indicated if will be difficult if nothing obvious and not doing it when it goes in. So far I'm unable to reliably replicate the smoke. |
