I think I would initially start by having the battery tested, could well have a dead cell even at twelve months old, what make of battery is it?

its just a cheap battery excide excel I have just put the charger back on and the battery is back at half charge ,,the charger is charging it but after an hour it stops charging ...why wont it accept a jump start though |

Are you connecting the earth lead to the battery terminal or a good earth point on the engine? as it is is suggested by L/R you use a good earth point on the engine.

its a key start it goes through system check and then wont go any further and turning the key does nothing |

Your Avatar says you have a 2013 S/C if that is the case it would be Keyless entry with push button start not a key start.

In that case why not just swap the batteries over initially which would eliminate the battery side of things.

If it's not the battery then it's a full code read required to even start figuring it out. Could be as simple as an earth point failure, could be something much more nasty. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
