Home > General > front screen causes revs to drop slightly? |

The front screen heater draws a very big electrical load, the fall in RPM is because the alternator suddenly has to provide this and causes a significant drag on the engine that takes a little time to respond.

Begs the question as to why you're putting on the screen heating in this weather? 2010 TDV8 - current - my first RRS, loving it so far...... 2005 Cayenne S - handling defied physics and what a sound, so sod the mpg! 1995 Disco TDI- surprisingly reliable, shame about the peeling dash & other trim Lots of other non 4X4's in between times......... |

The heated windscreen draws 27.5A each side, so 55A in total. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Don't forget that the side airbag pack lives on the A-pillar behind the trim so just be a bit careful when accessing it all. Be really annoying to set that off! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I like how you just say that so casually. Like its common knowledge to know these things. |

idi - info available in the workshop manual that is freely available to download. Took me 2 minutes to open the manual and check the wiring diagram. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I think that would be a very long index of questions with no answers, taking into account not everybody can be bothered posting a reply when they get the issue fixed to maybe help others with the same or similar issue. I think it would be quicker to keep asking you questions.
