Can’t catch a break spots of oil on the drive and thought it might be the cam cover again but on investigation it’s the front offside output shaft seal, same part as the rear and replacement seems similar to the rear diff. Job for when I’m off next.

Sorry, I didn't read your post properly - notice it's the rear you have an issue with! Kev

Thanks Kev, can’t believe I forgot about that! I’ll check it tomorrow. It is the front diff that started leaking, I’ve sorted the rear with a new seal.

No problem. If it is blocked, the part number for the new breather filter is LR019450. It costs about £15 from memory. When you fit the new one, cut the pipe at an angle. This will prevent the right angle of the new filter sealing the top of the pipe. Kev

Thanks for that Kev, I’ve just been to have a quick look and checked the photos on the internet and can’t find it, I’ll have a better look tomorrow.

It should be just by your coolant bottle. If you try and blow down it and you feel the air compressing, it's clear. If not, chop it off and replace

Cheers Kev, well it’s raining here this morning so I’ll try and have a look later if it stops? If it’s not been modified I’ll cut the filter off and see if the leak stops, I’ve got the new seal on order anyway. Steve

Well I found it hiding behind the AC pipes but couldn’t get any slack on it, all the AC and cooler pipes were fitted on top of it.

I had changed the oil in both diffs and transfer box recently but I’ll drain and refill the front again. Steve

So far so good, front diff not leaking anymore. Result I didn’t think just fixing the breather would stop the leak. Steve
