Afternoon,

Need to fit new Disc brakes (front and rear) to RRS 2014 with 21 inch wheels.

I'm looking to buy them online but unsure on the Disc mm needed.

One site said that 360mm (front) and 350mm (rear) would fit.

But also offered up to 380mm (front) and 365mm (rear).

Does anyone know if the 360mm/350mm will fit or do i need to go for the bigger ones?

I’d be surprised if you really needed rear discs.

When I bought the car in November, it came with an MOT advisory saying that all 4 disc brakes were worn/pitted/scorn.

7 months later and all the brakes are squealing, so I'm going to change all 4 at the same time.

I'd whizz a wheel off and check the dimensions as they are fitted to the vehicle. 10 minutes and it saves guessing.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Mine are 380 fronts & 365 rears.

I thought squealing brakes was a standard RRS feature

Or the thing that goes on the rear or the pad.

My rears squeal

The only brake I’ve had squeal was when the rear right handbrake shoe lining broke down. Other than that, they’ve been silent. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

No squeaky brakes here either. I always give a smear of copperslip on the back of the pads. I know you're not supposed to, but it's an old school habit that I cannot get out of  Kev

If you have High Performance Brakes i.e. 6 pot Brembos on Front as per Andy's picture, they will be 380mm Front and 365mm Rear if they are Standard Brakes they will be 360mm Front and 350mm Rear. As for squealing I think you will find it was the cars fitted with the 6 pot Brembo's that had the main issue, mine certainly did, L/R even bought out a revised pad they termed as Anti Squeal after numerous attempts at curing it. Several TSB's on the subject as well.

With regards to 6 pot Brembos, there was a 'mod' to the pads to stop them squealing, basically it was cutting a chamfer into the leading and trailing edge of the pads.

I have no squeal from using HAWK ceramic pads in my 6 pots, and no squealing from the Brembo pads in the rears.

If you use the brakes gingerly and often, there will be a build up of dust which will cause a squeal. Either washing the dust away with a hose or a few hard brakes can and will stop this though.

Don't use copper grease on brakes. Were not in the 90's any more

The bulletin says to file a chamfer into the top edge of the pad
