Jock, Here is a video from the Porsche forum (I have one of these also) which shows returning the scuttle panel to black using a heat gun. May be worth a go Suggest you clean the green algae with a nail brush.

The Heat Gun trick doesn't work all it does is cause the plastic to "leech" the colour back to the surface and after a time it will return to it's faded colour again. Have been doing that for years on to trucks just to tart them up a bit for the auctions or tests.

Remember, before using something like G4...clean the area first using an APC and then some alcohol if you have some (Stella won`t do) to make sure the restorer adheres correctly Steve. |

Just ordered some Gtechniq C4, £27 for 15ml off Ebay, hope this does the trick 😎 |

If you decide to replace the scuttle remember to buy new trim clips for the A pillar trims.

It is brilliant stuff. However... ...the one place I couldn't get it to have an effect was the scuttle panel. The C4 just disappeared into it like water into sand. The other problem is that by the time it needs redoing I will have lost the little bottle! |

I've just painted mine. Fed up of using various restorers to have to do it again a few months later. Used a product called 'Buzzweld Plastic In One' (as recommend3ed elsewhere on this site). Also decided to paint the rear tailgate release button, the front headlamp washers and the rear wiper arm.
