Front Pad Question

Hi Guys,

Taken the front pads out of my front calipers (caliper painting.) At first I thought they where low, but looking at the Brembo pic online, they should measure 16.6mm from rear of pad to front face. Mine measure about 13.5mm. I guess they are still fine??

16.6mm would be the thickness of a new pad, do not know your mileage but that would account for the wear not sure what lining thickness brembo advise changing them at, normally around when the wear gets close to the bottom of the two "grooves" in the lining I would imagine. L/R recommend minimum wear thickness of lining 3mm personally I would change them well before they got that low The wear indicator should illuminate when pads around 75% worn which would be advisable to change then at least. The backing plate on the pad is 5mm so in theory you could go around 8mm total thickness.

Cheers

Hi Col,

They have worn 3mm in a year. I am thinking that's nothing to be honest. If I went another year , would be at 10mm which is still more than 50% lol 2018 SVR

Personally I would change them when they were worn down to 4/5mm minimum. Thumbs Up

Cheers
