Car laid up

Hi guys.
I’m wondering, due to the current situation we all find ourselves in, is how should the car be “laid up”during the crisis.
I’m more talking of the suspension setting ie what height should we leave it at. I’ve heard a few differing opinions of the best course of action. Also the EPB. The last thing I want is that failing again.
Thank you.

I wouldn’t worry about those things.

Just keep the battery charged

Are you isolated for 12 weeks?

Gearbox in P. EPB off.
Ctek charger into tow electrics or to battery or a solar Optimate
Lower suspension if you want.
Don’t start it once a week. Not worth it Visitor from fullfatrr.com

EPB off

Trickle charger hooked up

Leave it. Don't be tempted to start it and run it once a week. That will do more harm than good

Yeah, used to work abroad a lot so car parked up 3 months at a time, left in normal ride, height, EBC off and Ctek charger connected, never had any issues.

Cheers

How do you get round the EPB automatically engaging as used to happen with both my 2007 L320 TDV8 and my 2015.5 SDv6? I never had a problem with them disengaging after 3-4 months , yes they would be sticky but they never jammed on, same with the L322 FF’s and both Evoques I’ve owned, the EPB was never an issue and the cars all lived out on the drive and often for the whole winter. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

You deactivate auto engagement for the EPB in the CCF files.

Initially my auto EPB was off so I turned it on in the CCF as I'd never rely on the park pawl only, especially with the high winds up so probably rocking the RRS back and fore. Now if I manually move to Park the EPB does not automatically come on, only if shutting down the engine in a gear including R.

This may have changed with newer ones as there is no way of preventing my wife's Evoque EPB applying, it happens regardless of what the gear selector is on but I haven't been into the CCF on it. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Unsure of the CCF settings, but you can put the newer cars into EPB maintenance mode to prevent the EPB applying when ign off Thumbs Up

The suspension being air won't be affected, I was working a month on/off so the EPB could be left on the whole month with no issue's, I'm more concerned about brake disk corrosion as per this thread - https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic56006.html 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

Hey disco mikey. My car is parked too far away from my house for a trickle charger.
Is there any alternative to that? Would disconnecting the battery help/ or cause any issues?
Cheers

I thought holding down the park brake while turning ignition off would stop it applying
Well something like that

Hi Andy. Not quite isolating but I’m just not driving the car at all. I know how temperamental these bad boys are so just wanting to be prudent till we can all get back enjoying them again.

If its left outside, then just get a Solar Battery Charger - loads on eBay.

Have to say I leave my car for weeks at a time and don't do any of the above and its still fine!

Inflate the tyres to prevent flatspotting. I've SORN my RRS and inflated the tyres to the maximum rating (50 psi) whilst it is stood idle. I've also connected my Ctek charger to keep the battery topped up. Kev
