I wonder if anyone can tell me what the going rate for a timing belt change is?

My 2012 RRS SDV6 diesel has just gone over 70k miles and needs doing.

Start with the JLR fixed price deal and work back from there for an Indie I would guess 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

But for your £695, the dealer is not replacing the rear timing belt, nor the idler pulleys...

I had mine done done in October at a local indie, all belts and some service work it was just over 800.00 2018 Telsa MS

I had mine done in October which included front and rear belts, aux belt and tensioners replac d plus a full service at my local indi and I paid £1100 including vat and that was all genuine Landrover parts used. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

The 3 belts and tensioners alone cost £275.36 before VAT from LR (Duckworths).

When I had a quote from a local indie, his price of £699 did not include the rear belt, the impression I got was he didn't want the hassle of changing it and so decided it didn't need doing.

Needless to say he didn't get that or the other work I needed doing.

Retail price of the 3 belts and front idlers is £365 + VAT, or £440 for round figures

That leaves £255 (Inc VAT) for labour charges. Divide £255 by your dealers hourly rate...

Book time for front belt is 3.5 hrs and rear belt is 2.4hrs

Same question for front active anti-roll bar bushes; had quite a range of quotes.
