Yes, if the ACC sensor is removed then the cruise control won't work. You can either put the sensor back on - and get it set to point correctly - or you can use an IID Tool (or similar) to alter the CCF to set it to standard cruise control. Then you'll have non-ACC cruise control available.

Its ok, found it. Its the tool used by a garage to access the ecu to make changes. I will ask my mechanic if he can do it?

Some swear by the IID and its certainly hovering in the back of my mind to get one. But I haven't yet - after 4 years RRS ownership. I've maybe been fortunate in that my local indie is good and for reasonable cost I can leave them to sort it out when necessary. I guess another aspect is that on a gravel drive it is not much fun jacking up the car or searching for dropped nuts and bolts. Perhaps on a tarmac drive with a large garage or workshop as well, things might be different.

I'm a fan of ACC and miss it. My TDV8 had it but my SDV6 doesn't. If you do good periods on motorways, ACC is an excellent tool. Not much use on ordinary roads. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Hi, well, apparantly it doesn't seem that easy. Its been in to a local Land Rover specialist, Discovery Centre near Harrogate and they have tried deleting the fact that it doesn't have an ACC sensor but to no avail. They can get cruise to work but it only lasts a few seconds and then switches off, never to appear again. Switch ignition off and restart and it works for a few seconds then switches off again. They have suggested getting a second hand ACC sensor (new £1200 so b*****er that) and they will tape it to the front and see if it makes a difference. |

Thanks, yes Ive got one now but there is no place for it on the bumper I have. Although it has a plastic cover the aperture on the dedicated bumper has a plastic cover, presumably to protect from stones. So may need to change the bumper back to standard, so more £££££ to buy one, repair it and spray it Java black. |
