2007 RRS HSE 6CD Head Unit Stuck on Phone Mode

Hi,

Since the last month my head unit is now constantly stuck on 'phone mode'

All buttons are unresponsive and after searching here is what I have tried so far:

Disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes and reconnecting
Removing the fuses and replacing

The strange thing is that when I remove either the 30a fuse or the 10a fuse from the glove box the unit kicks out of phone mode and is fully functioning WITHOUT SOUND???

Once I replace the fuses the unit goes back to phone mode. If I connect my phone I can use it as normal.

Can anyone please offer any advice? The garage claims that the unit will need replacing but there must be some sort of fix?

Thanks in advance
D4

As per the attached image I have removed and replaced the following fuse numbers from the glove box fuse box:

42, 52, 53, 57 & 58
