Well who’d have thought it, really didn’t think it would be an exhaust manifold stud broken, I really stand correcting. Talk about barking up the wrong tree. After stripping out all the heat shields through the n/s wheel arch and removing the top wishbone to get access, I find the tell tail sooty black mark behind the turbo coming from the exhaust manifold / head. Anyone know how to remove the manifold or any ideas how to drill it out and re-tap in situ, or have I got to have the engine out. Relieved it’s not the turbo, but really p!ssed now as its seemingly a bigger job for a 2 bit stud. Cheers Graham |

I wouldn't like to try drilling the studs without lifting the body

Hi all, thought I’d just let you know that 12 months later, the afore mentioned fix is still holding good.
