Water on passenger side

I pulled up the trim along the door shuts and found quite a bit of water down there.

As I don't have a sunroof, anyone know where it commonly comes in ?

Thank you

Thanks you.

Pollen filter was dry last time I looked but will recheck.

AC Drains do work, well on one side at least

Just had the same thing with mine and it was the windscreen trim proud of the screen by a couple of mm and let water in via the filter. Easy fix though.

Andy,
Sorry to hear that - water ingress to the cabin is bad news especially when the weather is cold like right now.
I wonder if it's the windscreen pillar leak problem? Pull off the external trim and check the hole is taped over and the securing clips have correct gaskets in good condition. There's a TSB about it and a repair kit part number DHB500430 . 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

This is down to a poor design of the intake under the scuttle panel.

When I took my scuttle off to spray it last summer, I made a little water deflector in case the seal around the scuttle was to ever fail. After fixing the root cause, it could be worth you doing some thing like this Andy.

It's simply the side of a plastic milk bottle, stuck in place with a decent amount of silicone sealant. Simple but it does the job...

Thank you. Thumbs Up

Will do that.

22/2/20 - Added milk bottle plastic, above metal with 2 holes, that align with the trim clip holes

Watch that grommet in the photo, mine was dislodged when I got mine and it’s directly above the main engine ECU and allowed water to get into it, was a bit of a nightmare getting it fixed. Steve

As the vast majority of owners don't have an issue, I think this "reason" is a bit spurious.

I've driven mine through some fairly horrible conditions with not a drop in the footwell. I haven't however, jet washed it to within an inch of its life. I have jet washed it, I should note, but never had a problem. What is it that people are doing that is causing water ingress through the cabin air intake? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You don't have to mod yours if you don't want to !

It's a combination of poor design. and the seal on the scuttle getting old.
Simply with the car parked up water can get in, as the air in take sits further out than the bottom of the windscreen

It is poor design, whichever way you look at it. This is not a spurious statement. The design should be suitably robust to not let water into the cabin if it should pass between the bottom of the screen and scuttle. This is clearly not the case and something that could have been easily avoided if the intake design was a slightly different shape as to not protrude the bottom of the screen.

Prevention is better than cure, especially if you're already working in that area. As I was removing to paint mine, it was a no brainer for the sake of 5 mins of my time and no downside. Kev
