Just had the same thing with mine and it was the windscreen trim proud of the screen by a couple of mm and let water in via the filter. Easy fix though.

This is down to a poor design of the intake under the scuttle panel.

Same, I did mine as above 2.5 years ago and it’s been dry ever since 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

Watch that grommet in the photo, mine was dislodged when I got mine and it’s directly above the main engine ECU and allowed water to get into it, was a bit of a nightmare getting it fixed. As the vast majority of owners don't have an issue, I think this "reason" is a bit spurious. I've driven mine through some fairly horrible conditions with not a drop in the footwell. I haven't however, jet washed it to within an inch of its life. I have jet washed it, I should note, but never had a problem. What is it that people are doing that is causing water ingress through the cabin air intake? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

It is poor design, whichever way you look at it. This is not a spurious statement. The design should be suitably robust to not let water into the cabin if it should pass between the bottom of the screen and scuttle. This is clearly not the case and something that could have been easily avoided if the intake design was a slightly different shape as to not protrude the bottom of the screen.
