RRS 2011 Autobiography SDV6 3.0 heater only blowing cold air

hi guys newly back into RRs ownership hoping someone can help, when I first start the car the heaters are like tepid for a minute or so then only blow cold air, have checked for air lock by opening the bleed screw, even after driving it 250 miles it was still stone cold, the cars temp stayed exactly in the centre off the dial where I would expect it to be, any ideas.

Many thanks in advance for any input Colin.

You need to get the fault codes read.

thanks am looking into getting the car to an independent specialist to have the codes read.
so far I have established no blockage in matrix as back flushed it and ran water I both directions, car is running fine
not overheating so that should rule out thermostat.
I had one of the hoses to the matrix disconnected with engine running but there is no water pressure at either pipe hardly a trickle, I know its a belt driven water pump but is there a aux pump other than the small pump at fbhthat may not be working or is that the job of the small pump below FBH to circulate fluid round the heating side...
its not a great time of the year to be without heat in the car.

I have put power to the small pump and it seems to be working, my FBH has also stopped going on

Ok so as everywhere is closed being xmas new year I soldiered away at it myself got a hold of a icarsoft lr v2.0 after checking the matrix wasn't blocked I narrowed it down to either faulty heater valve at the Fuel Burning Heater or the little water pump.
so ordered a couple of used tested parts solenoid valve and water pump. replaced the solenoid valve. still nothing so as I was still waiting for the pump I pulled the original out to inspect and test. it seemed to be working ok. a bit of head scratching later I connected the icarsoft reader and cleared all fault codes and wouldn't you know it I started getting heat JACKPOT!!!
so I think it likely was the solenoid valve after all and once replaced I should have cleared the codes then tried it.
anyway thanks for all the replies ill keep MMP Dundee in mind for any future issues.

Congratulations on the DIY fix! Always supremely satisfying.

And now the rest of us also have an idea what to check if we have similar symptoms.
